     500-Year-Old Pine is Cut Into Planks
   Ironwood Daily Globe – Saturday August 24, 1935.

   Rhinelander – A pine tree, that according to its annual growth rings, was more than 500 years old, was cut into planks today. 
  The tree was cut in Forest County by E.J. Burgoyne, camp foreman for the Connor Lumber Company.  It is believed to have
   been the oldest tree in this section of the state.
