Arlyn M. Aschinger Sr., age 93, Iron River, MI died Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River
Born: October 11, 1914 in Argonne, WI, the son of the late Hugo and Susan (Koch) Aschinger attended the Laona, WI schools graduating from the Laona High School in 1932. He also attended the Lumber School in Memphis, TN. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII in the European Theater. He married the former Ruby Belland on June 24, 1946 at the St. Leonard's Church in Laona. The couple later moved to Iron River to make their home. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in 2007
.
Arlyn was a lumber inspector with the Kingston Lumber Company in Stambaugh and then the Wenos Lumber Company of Iron River for many years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Ottawa Post #3134 of Iron River.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby on December 1, 2007, his sister Joyce Lambert, and brother, Winford.
Survived by two sons; A. Michael (Carol) Aschinger, Jr. of Iron River and Alan J. Aschinger of Honolulu,HI; two sisters; Dorothy Lambert of Laona, WI and Genevieve Rogers of Crandon, WI; Two Grandchildren; Michael and Kathleen; Nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services: Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River with Rev. Aloysius Hasenberg to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment: Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River The West Side Veterans Council will accord Military Rites.

Aschinger, Ruby M. (Belland) (December 2007)
Mrs. Ruby M. Aschinger, age 91, Iron River, MI died Saturday December 1, 2007 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River.
Born: November 26, 1916 in Laona, WI. the daughter of the late Harvey and Delia (Collard) Belland grew up in Laona, WI. She attended the Laona schools graduating from Bay View high school, Milwaukee in 1934. She then attended the St. Vincent's School of Pediatric and Obstetrics in Chicago, IL graduating in 1938. She started her nursing career at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL. She later returned to Laona and worked at the Laona Hospital.
She married Arlyn Aschinger June 24, 1946 at St. Leonard's Catholic Church in Laona. The couple later moved to Iron River to make their home and Ruby worked at the Stambaugh General Hospital for 18 years. She retired in 1979 after working many years for Dr. Retallack at his office. The couple celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year. Ruby was a very active member of St. Agnes Catholic Church participating in many church activities. She was a CCD teacher for many years. She was a member of St. Agnes Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Rosary Sodality and the VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by four brothers; Homer, Patrick, Harvey Jr. and Michael, and two sisters; Fern and Joyce. She is survived by her husband, Arlyn; two sons, A. Michael (Carol ) Aschinger, Jr., Iron River, MI and Alan John Aschinger, HonoluluHI; two Grandchildren, Michael and Kathleen; Nieces and nephews
Funeral Services: Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River, with the Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of the Rosary Sodality and Daughters of Isabella will form an honor guard at the funeral service. Interment: Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River, MI. Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.

Beyer, Carolyn (Barney) (August 2007)
Carolyn Beyer, age 56, of Rhinelander, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at her home . She was born on February 25, 1951, in Laona to David and Beatrice (Hansen) Barney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Terry. Carolyn is survived by two children, Lori (Darren) Murray of Naples, Fla. and Henry (Lena) Beyer III of Wabeno and five grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, Brooke, Brianna and Nathan.
A memorial service for Carolyn was held Monday, August 20, 2007, at the Carlson Funeral Home in Rhinelander

Bodoh, Roma L. (Mielke) (January 2000)
Roma L. Bodoh, 88, of Laona, formerly of Wabeno, died at the NuRoc Community Health Care Center on January 31, 2000. Roma was born on
October 29, 1911 to Phillip and Emma Cole Mielke in Carter, Wisconsin.
She lived in the Forest County area all of her life. In August of 1929, she and Ben Bodoh were united in marriage. Roma was trained as a Civilian Plane spotter during the war. She and Ben operated the Hilltop Supper Club, Wabeno from 1947 to 1966. After they sold the supper club, she worked for Nicolet Country Club in Laona for 12 years and then she was office manager for Cheney's Motel, also in Laona. Her hobbies included embroidery, crocheting, and fishing.
She is the beloved mother of Gordie (Fred) Dittmar, Laona and Phyllis (Dominic) Gallinatti, Milwaukee. She is the dear sister of Icyl Thurber, Laona; Marge (Ken) Spaay, Wabeno; Lowell (John) Klementz, Townsend; Kathryn (Roy) Godin, St. Augustine, FL; Orben (Lillian) Mielke, Lakewood. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ben in 1982; one son, Ben; two sisters, Mona and Avis; and two brothers, Gordon and Chester.
Visitation was on Wednesday, February 2, 2000 at Suminski Funeral Home, Wabeno from 12 noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Gerald Behling conducted the service. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery in Carter.
